Hotel Accountant

An exciting opportunity has been created for an Accountant/Payroll Administrator to join our Capstone Hotels & Resorts Hotel team. This is a full-time permanent position, based in Richmond, Tasman.The successful applicant will be a key member of the team and will be a flexible and responsive person who has a positive, approachable manner. They should relate well with a wide range of people and be both confident working independently and willing to participate fully as a team member.Reporting to our Financial Controller, you'll be performing a wide range of accounting and administration functions for 3-4 assigned hotels, including:PayrollAccounts PayablePreparation of daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations and reportsOwnership of the account's inbox for each hotelVarious ad hoc duties to support other members of our teamExcellent time management skills are essential to ensure reporting is completed within relevant timeframes and to meet our reporting and filing deadlines.The ideal applicant will have exceptional attention to detail as the highest level of accuracy is required for this role, which has a strong focus on preparing and analysing financial reports. A comprehensive knowledge of Payroll and HR would be advantageous as the role does include payroll preparation.Preference will be given to applicants with experience within an accounting environment and proficiency in using Xero Accounts software.
