A unique Permanent, Full-Time opportunity Conduct in-depth research into Auckland's heritage Work to conserve and celebrate Auckland's unique heritage Help shape Auckland's future by preserving its past!
At Auckland Council, we are dedicated to enhancing Auckland's rich and diverse heritage.
Our Heritage Information and Advice Team is seeking a passionate Heritage Researcher to join the team.
In this role, you will contribute to the protection, preservation, and promotion of the city's unique historic heritage.
He angitutanga: The opportunity As a Heritage Researcher, you will: Conduct in-depth research into Auckland's archaeology, built heritage, Maori heritage, heritage landscapes and historical themes.
Support the development of heritage assessments and advice to inform planning, policy and conservation decisions.
Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders including community groups, iwi, and local experts.
Provide expert heritage research and advice to input into statutory processes.
Prepare reports, presentations, and publications contributing to our broader heritage initiatives.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in conserving and celebrating Auckland's heritage as part of a collaborative and passionate team.

He korero mou: About you You will have a tertiary qualification in history or heritage conservation, along with demonstrated experience in heritage research, planning, or conservation.
Your strong analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential in conducting thorough research, while your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable you to present complex information in an accessible way.
A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in the heritage and the history of Tamaki Makaurau Auckland are key to thriving in this role.
