Herd Manager

Job Description
We at Ariki Farming are running a 1200 cow dairy farm in Reporoa milking through a rotary shed. We operate on a 6 & 2 roster. We require 1 new staff member to join our team. At least 1 year of farming experience is required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Milking
Plan and manage the feeding of cows
Milk cows and manage junior and relief staff in milking sheds
Manage the health, reproduction, and welfare of calves and cows
Monitor effluent spreader systems
General maintenance such as fencing, spraying weeds, and pest control
Operate machinery
Keep records of the farm's environmental impact
Follow health and safety and wellbeing procedures

Applicants must have the following:

At least 1 year of dairy farming experience
Work well with a team
Must be smoke/drug free
Honest and reliable
Clean police and drug history
No pets

Avg Hrs / Wk: 40
Rostered Time off: Single rotation - 6 days on / 2 days off
Remuneration: $70,000 Total Package Value (e.g. Salary and/or benefits)
