Join a rapidly growing organisation where you will play a crucial role in implementing, maintaining, and enhancing our HSMS for our NZ entities. We seek a dedicated Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Advisor to cover parental leave and help sustain a safe and healthy working environment.

About the role:
Reporting to UP Education NZ's HR Director and working with our AU Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Advisor, you will play a critical role in partnering with the business to implement and maintain an effective health and safety framework, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations in New Zealand. Some travel within NZ will be required to visit various facilities.
Key responsibilities include:

Develop and update health and safety policies and procedures in line with NZ regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and implement hazard control measures.
Organise and conduct health and safety training and induction programs.
Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, recommending corrective actions.
Review and audit workplace practices for regulatory compliance.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure drills are completed.
Act as a point of contact for health and safety concerns, facilitating communication and supporting business units.
Maintain records of health and safety activities and create board-level reports.
Design, promote, and support employee mental wellbeing programs.

About you:

At least 2 years experience in Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, Workplace Health and Safety, or a related field.
Certified WHS qualifications and additional professional certifications are highly desirable.
Proven experience in implementing and managing health and safety frameworks.
In-depth knowledge of New Zealand health and safety regulatory framework, codes of practice, approved codes of practice, standards and guidance material.
The ability to collaborate with, influence and engage others to drive understanding and proactive change.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess potential risks and hazards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities, sense of initiative, ability to work under pressure and handle confidential information with discretion.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
