Then this could be the role for you!JJS are looking for a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join our safety team and help maintain the standards already set for workplace safety across all of our workshops, work-sites, logistics, transport and painting areas. The main purpose is to support and co-ordinate the compliance and record keeping for the organisation from a HSE perspective and to lead and refine the organisation wide HSE strategy.This is a 'boots on the ground' type person who can work alongside our teams to instil a strong safety leadership agenda and champion a proactive approach to risk management and incident reporting. We are an equal opportunities employer and are proud of our multi-cultural workforce so you must be able to work alongside people from all cultures/backgrounds/skill-levels and be mindful of the language/cultural barriers this brings with it.Key Responsibilities:Coordinating, supporting, and assisting across a wide range of Health and Safety activitiesOversight of H&S processes and systems such as training, PPEWorking with external parties and managers to identify and manage risksChampion new HSE programmes and initiatives like machine safetyEnsuring all H&S paperwork and general items like training/up-skilling/accidents/incidents are recorded and managers kept informedConduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments across all areas of the businessDevelop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and best practicesProvide training and support to staff on health and safety mattersInvestigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to ensure compliance and prevent future occurrencesStay up-to-date with legal regulations and industry standards to ensure compliancePromote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organizationQualifications:Proven experience in a health and safety role, ideally within construction/manufacturing industryStrong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practicesNEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification is preferredExcellent communication skills and the ability to train and engage staff at all levelsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and its application in the workplaceStrong relationship building, influencing and problem resolution skillsAbility to prioritise tasks through good time management and organisation skillsProfessional, proactive attitude with excellent interpersonal skillsIf you're ready to take the next step in your career and contribute to a safer, healthier workplace, we'd love to hear from you!What we offer:A supportive team environmentOpportunities for career development and advancementCompetitive remuneration packageTo ensure a safe workplace, JJS engage in pre-employment medical checks and drug screening.
