We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team and help us maintain our high standards of safety and compliance.
The Health & Safety Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting our Health & Safety team to ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a strong commitment to fostering a culture of safety within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining compliance with legislation, business policies and procedures
Minimising risk, accidents, injuries through Risk Assessments, Hazard Reports, Health and Safety Toolbox training and other safety measures
Assisting with the implementation of corrective and preventive actions, relating to all incidents and hazards that are reported
Generating and communicating relevant H&S documentation
Prepare and maintain accurate, compliant and up to date records, prepare management and customer reports and H&S metrics reporting
Conducting and supporting internal audits
Communicating legislative changes and emerging issues to managers and employees
Ensuring all Health and Safety systems are updated with the correct accreditation and information
Monitor ASSURA – data cleansing and categorising, follow ups with event and action owners to ensure they are on track for completion or closing out – provide support where required
Provide ASSURA advice and training to support managers
Coordinate and deliver H&S Induction training for new staff
Contribute to building a positive health and safety culture based on inclusiveness and participation
About you:
Team player: collaborative ability with a sense of humour and a proactive approach
Working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 and WorkSafe
Experience in safety incident investigation and causal analysis
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management and the ability to self-manage
Ideally you will also have experience with risk management
Analytical and research skills including the ability to analyse and interpret statistical and performance related data
Experience in Union engagement with the management of Worker Participation
Experience working with Assura is an advantage
ACC Partnership Programme knowledge and experience is desirable
Relevant tertiary qualification in Health and Safety is desirable but not essential
