The SLR culture is underpinned by our 5Bs which, in short is to Be safe, Belong, Be trusted, Be yourself and Be Successful.We're now looking for a Health & Safety Business Partner to join us in Auckland, leading Health & Safety for New Zealand and helping drive both a culture of Safety and process improvement.About the Role:We are currently seeking a full-time Health & Safety Business Partner to join the APAC H&S team, taking the lead on all things Health & Safety for New Zealand.
Based in our Auckland office and reporting to the Asia-Pacific Health & Safety Manager, we are looking for a hands-on, motivated and energetic individual who enjoys working collaboratively but can work autonomously.
As a rapidly growing consultancy with circa 800 employees in APAC and counting, this is an opportunity for a personable generalist with wide-ranging knowledge to drive safety improvements and culture across New Zealand's 10 offices and the wider APAC region.Key Responsibilities:First point of contact for H&S advice in NZBuilding supportive and effective relationships with stakeholders throughout New ZealandActively engage with and support service lines, technical discipline teams and other shared services by coaching and supporting the business in all matters relating to H&SSharing learnings, providing advice and contributing to proactive solutions to improving H&S environment, culture, and complianceIdentify and develop strategies to manage emerging issues relevant to H&S managementMonitor H&S data, review and communicate trendsConduct incident investigationsParticipate in the development and ongoing review of our safety management system to ensure continual improvementPrepare and deliver basic in-house training on relevant H&S topicsCoordinate Injury Management and Return to work programmesContribute to the delivery of the APAC H&S objectivesSkills and Experience:Comprehensive understanding of the WHS legislation, relevant Standards and Codes of Practice and a recognised tertiary qualifications in H&S, as well as at least six years demonstrated experience working in Health and Safety.Incident Investigation experience, preferably undertaken ICAM trainingExcellent verbal and written communication with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationshipsStrong skills in managing time, setting priorities and attention to detailExperience in hazard identification and the implementation of effective controls in the workplace, ideally in high-risk environments (e.g.
hazardous materials, working in and around water, ground disturbance).Experience in assisting with the development of a Safety Management system including H&S procedures, guidelines, and other risk management toolsDemonstrated knowledge of H&S at Work Act 2015 legislation, ACC and relevant Standards and Codes of PracticeHands-on, enthusiastic and motivated H&S Professional.
