Join our team as a Health and Safety Business Partner and become a pivotal part of our commitment to health and safety excellence.You will partner with the business and provide effective coaching, guidance and advice to managers and ensure delivery of a high quality, customer focused health and safety service which is responsive to the needs of the organisation and in line with health and safety best practice.As well as partnering with the business, you will also champion a wider portfolio of work within our health, safety and wellbeing framework.What's the salary?The recruiting salary range for this role starts at $107,000 per annum, but we can negotiate for the successful candidate to acknowledge the level of skills and experience they can bring to the team.What does this job look like?Collaborate with leaders to ensure the effective implementation of health and safety systems, aligning with legislative requirements and Council policies.Provide expert health and safety advice and coaching to leaders, acting as a key point of contact for all related queries within designated groups.Take charge of core Safety Management pillar, ensuring its principles are integrated into daily operations and culture.Contribute to strategic health and safety initiatives, driving forward projects that enhance the overall Safety Management System.Promote and lead by example in a culture of proactive incident, hazard, and near-hit reporting and support them through the process.What do I need to be successful in this role?You will need to know your stuff - having 10+ years' experience within the field of Health & Safety would be desirable.Have the ability to bring extensive knowledge and experience in applying safety principles, the Health and Safety at Work Act and codes of practice and standards relevant to this role.Ability to working collaboratively and bring positive influence at leadership meetings.Have excellent communication skills.Have proven leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to take people on a change journey.Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively to prioritise tasks and manage your workload.Employee Benefits?There is an extensive employee benefit package on offer which includes health insurance, and an culture of flexible working and work from home capability to really give yourself the work/life balance you've been looking for.Will I be a good fit?You'll be joining a close-knit team of professionals all of whom bring various areas of expertise to the table and who are keen and willing to share their knowledge and support.What's in it for me?Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of both strategic and operational health and safety plans, ensuring they align with our overarching Council strategy.Who will I report to?You will report directly to the Health and Safety Manager at Hamilton City Council.I'm interested!
