Benefits to you include a great salary, a family-owned NZ company that sincerely cares for their staff, no suits allowed, great bosses, the best team, ongoing training and development, and secure employment.Applicants must have/be:Certificate in Health and Safety or higher (advantageous)Full New Zealand Driving License2 years' experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the trade and services industry.Familiarity with Impac PreQual standards is essential.NZ residency or permanent visa holderStrong understanding of health and safety legislationExperience in SM8 Software system would be beneficialProficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePointExcellent English, written and verbal skillsAttention to detail and a proactive approach to safety.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and time management skills.A sense of humour is a must.Key Responsibilities:Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.Incident Management - Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety-related activities. Policy and procedural development and implementation.Ensure all employees are trained on and adhere to safety practices and company policies.Complete inductions.Serve as the primary contact for health and safety matters within the company.Effectively communicate safety policies, procedures, and changes to all employees.Send out safety alerts/messages when applicable.Run/Coordinate H&S meetings, take minutes and distribute.Coordinate employee wellness checks and follow up.Maintain and submit PreQual bi-annual audits.Perform and coordinate drug and alcohol screening where required.Perform random site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.Collaborate with foremen & supervisors to address and resolve safety concerns.Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards, including Machinery Safety, Emergency Management, Traffic Management, permit systems, isolation and lockout, hazardous substances certification requirements (to name a few key areas).Stay updated with changes in legislation and integrate necessary updates into company policies.Manage corrective and preventive actions in response to internal and external audit findings.Other tasks responsibly requested by manager.Immediate start is available, company cellphone, laptop, and use of company vehicle during work hours.Apply online for this role or contact Human Resources for more information.
