Health & Safety Advisor

Details of the offer

About us
At Hutt City Council our vision is to build a connected, resilient and inclusive city where all of our people thrive - Kia noho mai tenei taone hei pou herenga waka, hei pou herenga kaupapa, hei wahi whai hua ki hona iwi.
Our council has set out a bold and ambitious plan for us to achieve. We work hard to deliver the best outcomes for our communities, are flexible in our approach, and we're committed to creating an inclusive and progressive work environment for our staff.

About the role
If you are passionate about health and safety, enjoy working closely with the business, and want to work with a great crew of people, this health and safety role will be the perfect fit for you.
You will be key to helping the Council create a safe working environment, where there is a people focus, and the health and wellbeing of every staff member is a priority. There's an opportunity to drive improvements across the health and safety systems, working closely with our Health & Safety Reps, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
You will be joining a collaborative team that has a programme of work to improve Health & Safety systems across the organisation. You will also play an important role in supporting the multiple facilities that we manage, ensuring safe practices are implemented to support the business.

About You
You'll be an experienced Health & Safety Advisor, passionate about keeping people safe and achieving outcomes that support the wider business to address challenges and be safety driven.
We are a connected team, so you'll need to be highly collaborative while also having the ability to work independently. You will enjoy variety and be provided with opportunities to develop your technical skills and expand your experience across multiple sites, hazards, and safety risks.
We're committed to providing a working environment that embraces, values and reflects the diversity of the community we serve.
We recognise rewarding you is not only about your pay, so we've outlined some of the great benefits that may be available to you. Read more about them here: careers.huttcity.govt.nz/your-total-rewards
