Work alongside our nursing team to help provide services to patientsOpportunity to learn and further develop your skillsAbout this position: The Inpatient Unit at Wairau Hospital covers a variety of medical and surgical specialties and you will be covering morning, afternoon and night shifts.
Shift Times:
AM: 0645 - 1515
PM: 1430 - 2300
Nights: 2230 - 0700

As a Health Care Assistant (HCA) you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, basic patient observations, some clinical tests and monitoring, and other tasks as directed by Registered Nurses.
Who is an appropriate applicant? You will have a mature outlook, the ability to get on with a wide variety of people, good information technology (IT) skills (especially with MS Excel and Word) and excellent organisational and communication skills.
You will be able to work in a flexible and methodical manner, demonstrating honesty and reliability, and will be adaptable to change, use appropriate initiative and respond flexibly to service needs.
Qualifications: Essential: Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)NZQA level 3 qualification (or equivalent) - Mandatory requirement. NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand, if not previously obtained, is to be commenced once orientations have been attended.About our team: Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough is the main health provider for Te Tau Ihu, the top of the south.
