Health Care Assistant - General Surgical / Urology Ward at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern, Otago Salary band - $60,000 - $70,000 p.a pro-rata and Kiwisaver
Parental leave - Fixed-term until 4/6/2025

About the role
In this important role you will help with a range of direct and non-direct patient care tasks under the direction of a registered nurse and maintain the department environment to ensure efficient and effective functioning including:
Patient watch/supervision and/or movement with one-on-one care
Restocking and setting up of equipment
Supporting our nurses and other members of the healthcare team
Clerical duties as required
Hours of work are 4 nights rostered per week 2245 - 0715

About you
Must hold working rights in New Zealand
Well organised, with a positive 'can do' attitude and be able to communicate clearly and openly
Must be able to take direction from a variety of staff
Experience working with people from a health setting will be advantageous
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings

Salary range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the HCA Pay Scale, between $60,100 and $70,358 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
