Health and Safety Coordinator - Part time19/12/2024156656625-30 hours per weekBirthday leave, subsidised health insurance for you and your familyNapier based role with stable companyAbout the Role: Our client is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to lead, implement, and continuously improve all aspects of their Health & Safety Management System across their group of companies. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, compliant, and productive work environment for all employees and subcontractors.Key Responsibilities:Develop, update, and maintain the company's Health & Safety Manual, policies, and procedures.Prepare and oversee site safety plans and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for all projects.Maintain compliance with pre-qualification authorities (e.g., SiteWise, ISNetworld, Prequal, Rapid Global).Identify, mitigate, and monitor workplace hazards and risks.Drive a positive culture of incident reporting and manage investigations for continuous improvement.Maintain and oversee staff training, induction records, and refresher courses.Liaise with regulatory authorities such as WorkSafe, ACC, and local governing bodies.Promote Health & Safety initiatives across the organization, leading by example.About You: The ideal candidate will be proactive, pragmatic, and have a passion for fostering a strong safety culture.Key Requirements:Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety role (preferably within a trades or construction environment).A strong understanding of New Zealand commercial trades and relevant legislation.Qualifications in Health & Safety or equivalent practical experience.Risk management expertise and a track record of improving safety systems.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with excellent computer literacy.Outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.A sense of humor and the ability to handle challenges with a positive attitude.This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of Health & Safety practices within a dynamic and supportive organisation.
