We are an independent New Zealand mobile towers and passive infrastructure business.
We operate a nationwide portfolio of over 2,400 mobile sites and are responsible for building and densifying our network of mobile towers across New Zealand to enable 5G and future mobile technology rollouts.  Our principal customers are Spark and 2degrees and other wireless network operators who install active radio equipment on our towers.  Working across New Zealand with a range of stakeholders, landlords and communities, we enable our customers to provide coverage and services to their end users to help unlock New Zealand's digital potential.
Connexa is owned by Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board (OTPP) as a majority shareholder (83%) and Spark New Zealand Limited retains a 17% interest.
As the Connexa Health and Safety Advisor you will support Connexa to lead the industry in the development and implementation of quality health and safety systems, processes and practices.
Work closely with Connexa's supplier community to collaboratively improve health and safety across contracting chain and shared workplace environments as well as support the Health Safety and Environment Manager implement exciting new health and safety risk remediation projects.
You'll be joining Connexa at an exciting time, you'll play a key role in shaping the ways of working and co-creating the culture.
Key responsibilities include: Utilise our technology to perform desktop reviews and evaluation of supplier health and safety pre-plans for each new build, colocation, relocation, upgrade and decommission.   Provide feedback and suggest improvements where appropriate Follow up on suggest improvements    Plan, implementing and report on health and safety site inspections for telecommunications infrastructure construction and maintenance work.
Compare what is happening with the pre-planned approach, follow up where required.
Providing relevant health and safety advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Assisting to develop, maintain and operate Connexa's Health and Safety Management System.
Work closely with the delivery teams to grow knowledge of their H&S obligations, responsibilities and what that looks like in practical terms Ensure individuals in the delivery teams are fulfilling their duties Reporting – when and where required.
Supporting Connexa Health & Safety Committee Requirements A sound understanding of Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) duties and effective application of these across business overlapping contracting chains and shared workplace environments.
Strong health and safety subject matter knowledge about civil and maintenance operations.
You are proficient planning, conducting, documenting and communicating the results from health and safety hazard and risk assessments.
Also successfully auditing the design and operation of health and safety control systems.
A proven track record critically evaluating health and safety pre-planning documentation and providing value-adding review feedback and recommendations to PCBU's preparers of these.
You can plan, execute and implement health and safety site inspections and follow these up with high quality reports summarising your inspection findings and justifying your conclusions and recommendations.
An ability to prioritise and self-organise to deliver defined outcomes and productivity requirements.
You understand New Zealands health and safety legal, duty holder and regulatory function framework and be able to relate this knowledge to Connexa's activities.
