The school opened in 1975 and has approximately 1800 students with 150 teaching and support staff combined.We are seeking a full-time, permanent, head of subject in food technology to commence term 1, 2025.We seek a dynamic teacher who is passionate about technology. A willingness to lead, along with enthusiasm around curriculum development, are essential.The successful applicant will have experience with NCEA and the qualifications framework and be a confident food technology teacher. They will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to lead the curriculum from Y9, including NCEA Levels 1 to 3.This role is ideal for a motivated teacher who has had previous leadership experience or is ready to step into leadership.Key responsibilities:Leading the food technology subject area within the technology faculty and driving high standards in teaching and learning.Contributing to the operational management of the department, including resource planning and moderation.Fostering a positive, collaborative team culture that encourages student engagement and achievement.Teaching responsibilities would be in the food technology and/or hospitality classes.The terms and conditions, including base salary and hours of work, for this position are set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $59,027 to $99,216, depending on the applicant's qualifications and experience.
