Job Description About the role:
Reporting to the Chief Assets and Operations Officer, and leading a dedicated team to drive initiatives, the role is charged with accountability for developing and implementing strategies for Health, Safety, and Business Risk that align with our business strategy and commitment to community safety. In doing this, the role will:
Develop and implement business risk strategy that aligns with operational goals, helping us foresee and navigate potential risks.
Champion proactive risk management, embedding robust practices across the organisation.
Lead initiatives to enhance health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring our commitments to regulatory requirements.
Shape Environmental & Sustainability Strategy, protecting the environment for future generations.
Oversee Business Continuity and Crisis Management plans, ensuring MainPower is prepared and resilient in any scenario.
About you:
We would love to hear from you if you have a passion for helping shape a safer, greener future for North Canterbury. You will not only be an experienced Health and Safety leader who has worked in a high-risk environment, additionally you will have:
A relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent) and extensive experience in safety and risk leadership.
Proven experience as a Health and Safety leader in a high-risk environment building and implementing risk strategy and frameworks.
Be an exceptional communicator with the ability to inspire, lead and engage with internal and external customers.
Practical knowledge in business continuity, quality assurance, and compliance.
A commitment to environmental and social responsibility that aligns with our values.
Previous experience in a utility network is desirable.
