The opportunity:
We are looking for a Head of Procurement who will oversee all aspects of the procurement process, from sourcing suppliers to negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of procurement best practices, market trends, and supplier management techniques. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to optimise procurement processes and achieve cost savings targets.
Your key responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's objectives and budgetary constraints.
Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and professional development.
Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and conditions to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for strategic sourcing and supplier consolidation.
Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in procurement.
Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance evaluation.
Develop and maintain procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Monitor and analyse procurement KPIs and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous process optimisation.
Stay abreast of changes in the regulatory environment and industry standards affecting procurement practices, providing guidance and recommendations as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior procurement role, with a track record of success in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, market dynamics, and industry trends.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Pragmatic and action-oriented approach with a willingness to get involved at a hands-on level.
Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems, with the ability to leverage technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPSM, or CPM is desirable.
Ability to manage and lead others.
