Cancer Society Waikato/Bay of Plenty is a charitable organisation on a mission to ensure nobody goes through cancer alone.
They provide transport and accommodation to those who need to travel for cancer treatment.
They also run support groups, deliver wellbeing services, and provide wayfinding advice to anybody facing a cancer diagnosis and their families.
About the Role
This senior leadership position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and innovate.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Finance and Digital oversees critical functions, including financial management, digital strategy, and business operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Financial Leadership: Manage budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and risk management while ensuring compliance with New Zealand accounting standards.
Digital Innovation: Drive the development and execution of a digital strategy to meet the needs of our community, unlock powerful data and insights, and enhance operational efficiency.
Operational Excellence: Oversee property, facilities, fleet management, and vendor relationships, ensuring seamless business operations.
Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing Finance and Digital team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience
We're seeking an experienced leader with:
A proven track record in financial leadership, digital transformation, and operational management.
High level of commercial nous, with the ability to balance strategic vision and hands-on execution.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, or a related field (CA or CPA certification preferred).
A background in computer science/software engineering is also highly desirable.
