This role has arisen due to the impending retirement of the CFO, which has enabled an internal promotion to CFO, leaving the Head of Finance position vacant. The Role The role of Head of Finance will report directly to the CFO. You will have responsibility for ensuring the finance function for the core business, its subsidiaries and joint venture companies is operating optimally to safeguard the company's financial health, ensure its growth and contribute to achieving its strategic goals. Your key responsibilities will include: Oversee and manage all company financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, tax planning, and risk management.Ensure monthly management and Board reports are produced in an accurate & timely manner.Provide business analysis support to areas of the businessPrepare the annual tax calculations for the core business and its joint venturesManage the year statutory reporting process and associated auditsResearch technical accounting issues for complianceLead the budget and reforecasting processEnsure the continuous development and implementation of finance operating systems and processes to support business, noting this organisation uses multiple systems.Ensure users have the correct security levels for accessing information and reportsIdentify and manage financial risks and opportunities for the company.Provide leadership, direction, and management to the finance team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.Assist the CFO in strategic planning and decision making on a company-wide basis to support the business.Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the CFO Your profile: To be considered for this role, we are looking for a CA qualified Accountant who has been in a similar role or been operating as a Financial controller looking to take the step up. You key attributes will include: Ideally experience as an Auditor in Big 4 audit firms, coupled with experience in large corporate commercial settingsPrevious experience in a multi-entity complex business structures with sizeStrong systems nous and intuitionProven stability in your previous rolesProven staff management - this role has 5 direct and circa 30 indirect reportsA collaborative, supportive and genuinely nice demeanourAn ability to question and be curiousProfessionalism and integrityA high level of commercial acumenThis is a very broad role where you can demonstrate your breadth of knowledge across all things finance.
