About the Job Working closely with the Biblical Studies staff, this permanent full time 2SU role is responsible to: Effectively engage with and teach Biblical Studies to students in Y10–13 and evaluate the department's academic process and achievement. Continue to develop effective unit/standards which respond effectively and appropriately to all students' needs. Successfully lead, mentor, and influence team members of the department. Promote and support faculty professional development and learning. Oversee the Senior School Lifelab devotional programme. Hold effective faculty meetings. Ensure whole school assessment, reporting, and moderation practices are being adhered to. Contribute to strategic HOF and Senior School meetings. Lead events/activities that support the biblical studies curriculum and school-wide special character. About you The successful candidate will: Hold a theological qualification and be a NZ registered teacher. Possess a high degree of pedagogical knowledge and learning strategies. Display enthusiasm, leadership and a desire to see young adolescents in our Senior School understand, flourish, and grow in faith, Christian worldview, and knowledge of the scriptures. Have a proven ability to relate well and be culturally responsive to a diverse range of staff and students. Be innovative and digitally proficient. Be motivated, organised, and student-centred. Be capable of developing sustainable systems of departmental evaluation and improvement. Be resilient and exhibit a very positive and professional attitude.
