As New Zealand's official export credit agency, NZEC's role is to help exporters grow, manage risk and access trade finance to deliver export opportunities. NZEC does this by providing financial services and guarantees complementary to the private sector.We have a rare opportunity for an ambitious Head of Business Origination to help build market awareness of NZEC's products and benefits, as well as identifying and facilitating funding and risk mitigation solutions for exporters. Daily tasks will also involve:Leading the Origination team in building market awareness of NZEC's products and benefitsOriginating and structuring deals that support NZ exporter growth and NZEC's revenue targetsDeveloping strong stakeholder relationships at senior levels across exporters, banks, government and international agenciesThis role will also involve strategic input into NZEC's product and portfolio development.We are seeking a well-rounded candidate with the following skills / experience:Extensive client-facing experience (at least 10 years' experience in a similar position) preferably with experience in the field of trade finance or trade credit insurance; or a relevant international business backgroundProven experience in meeting new business and client retention targetsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to gain understanding through listening, and to communicate technical concepts clearly and succinctlyProven ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders at senior levelsDeal execution skills - someone who is able to quickly grasp the commercial aspects of the transaction, and identify workable solutions to support the funding and/or risk mitigation of exportersStrong credit, analytical and financial skills (including ability to interpret financial statements)Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, often under strict deadline pressuresExisting relationships with or a demonstrable interest in engaging with Maori businessesDemonstrated high levels of integrity, sound judgement and an honest and ethical approachThe ability to meet the criteria required to hold an appropriate security clearanceKo nga hua | What we OfferThis is an important job and that's why we'll do all we can to support your success.
