An exciting new chapter for elite domestic hockey in New Zealand, a competitive and compelling hockey experience, the Premier Hockey League will unite and inspire a community of enthusiastic fans, while supporting the development of current and aspirational international players, coaches and officials. This 4 team amateur league will see teams from across the country compete in a League style home and away competition. The franchises: Tridents (Auckland), Mavericks (Waikato), Falcons (Wellington) and Alpiners (South Island); will assemble Hockey's best of the best over the back end of 2024. Each franchise has opportunities for Head and Assistant coaches, whose role it will be to drive the programs forward in their inaugural year.
About the Roles:
These are part-time positions, based in the various franchise locations within New Zealand. There is an expectation of commitment at domestic trainings and camps, and availability for the weekend-based competition from 2 November to 7 December 2024. The term of this role will begin with an identification and selection component in August, begin hands-on in October, and complete with a League debrief in December. Once appointed, together with the support of the respective Franchise, you will be able to assemble support staff to deliver the team's campaign plan.
About you:
To be considered for this role, you will have proven experience in high-level coaching and a strong understanding of holistic individual development. You will also have a background in programme leadership and management to a high level. Alongside this, you will have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities, strategic thinking, and organizational skills. These roles offer a unique opportunity for performance coaches to join a new era for high-performance Hockey in New Zealand.
