Position: Head Chef
We are looking to hire an experienced chef. The Head Chef will be responsible for leading the kitchen team of three staff members, overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. The duties and responsibilities of the Head Chef include but are not limited to:
Menu Development: Creating and updating innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, current culinary trends, and customer preferences. Leadership & Team Management: Leading, mentoring, and motivating the kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and providing training and development opportunities. Kitchen Operations: Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring efficient and smooth service during busy periods. Inventory & Cost Control: Managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, ensuring cost-effective use of ingredients, monitoring food costs, and implementing measures to minimize waste and control expenses. Quality & Safety: Following and maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety within the legislative regulation requirements of a food premise. Ensuring all kitchen staff adhere to health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Collaboration: Working closely with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless communication and coordination between the kitchen and dining areas and addressing and resolving any issues that may arise during service. Customer Experience: Striving to exceed customer expectations by delivering consistently excellent food and dining experiences and gathering and responding to customer feedback to continuously improve the menu and service. Minimum Qualifications:
Proven onsite experience in the hospitality industry is preferred. Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations. Strong business acumen. Exemplary management skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Attractive salary of NZD72,000 – NZD85,000.
