The Opportunity
Are you ready to leverage your expertise in a dynamic and cutting-edge environment? At Pamu, we cultivate a unique variety of berries in state-of-the-art tunnel houses designed for optimal growth.
We've recently expanded to six hectares in the beautiful Kerikeri, Bay of Islands, and we're looking for an Orchard Supervisor to lead our growing team. In this role, you'll train and supervise a high-performing group.
From day to day, you can expect to:
Kick off the day with your team, conducting toolbox meetings to ensure compliance with health and safety standards while meeting productivity and quality benchmarks.
Inspire and motivate your team to achieve targets and results.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager to establish and monitor productivity targets, driving efficiency across the operation.
Clearly communicate work details to both your team and the Operations Manager, ensuring effective information flow.
Embrace a dynamic and evolving environment, finding innovative solutions to challenges.
Be 'hands on' helping the team - harvesting, pruning, irrigation and fertilising etc.
About You
Ideally you will bring:
Previous experience as an Orchard Supervisor or similar role in the horticulture or agricultural industry.
Experience leading teams and managing contractors to achieve targets and results.
Understanding of and experience working in an environment with health and safety regulations.
Flexibility to work in variable weather conditions and adapt to seasonal demands.
Valid full driver's licence.
Comfortable using software programs.
Orchard machinery operation and maintenance.
Irrigation operation experience.
Relevant qualifications like Certificate in Horticulture, First Aid Certificate, Growsafe Certificate.
