The ideal candidate will have an Asbestos Assessor Licence, experience undertaking a range of asbestos surveys and clearance inspections, including at industrial sites, and experience undertaking fibre counts. This person will be highly motivated and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will have good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, and the ability to work closely with a range of client types.The HAZMAT Consultant will be responsible for ensuring their workload is managed efficiently, their reports are issued on time, and they are working towards achieving organisational goals and targets.ResponsibilitiesJob Management and Costings:Setting up and processing new projectsLiaising with clients to ensure their satisfactionEnsuring projects are invoiced upon completionField work and Reporting:Undertaking asbestos surveys, including Management, Refurbishment, and Demolition surveys at Residential, Commercial, and Industrial propertiesUndertaking air monitoring at a wide range of sitesUndertaking both Class A and Class B clearance inspections at a wide range of sitesPreparing and undertaking fibre countingWriting reports and issuing them for QC and then on to the clientsUndertaking methamphetamine or mould assessments and reportingAssisting with the training of trainee consultantsOffice:General office duties to ensure reports are issued on time for each projectOrganising consumables, tools, and site documentationCompleting Risk Assessments, SSSPs and SWMSReviewing Asbestos Removal Control Plans and flagging any concerns with a Senior HAZMAT Consultant or the Branch ManagerAssisting trainee consultants to complete the above pointsSkills and Experience:At least 2 years of experience undertaking Clearance InspectionsAt least 2 years of experience undertaking Asbestos SurveysExperience undertaking mould assessments is a bonusMust be able to use Word, Excel, and Outlook, and be able to master the use of new software for site work, reporting, and timesheetsExperience working under New Zealand Health and Safety legislation, including the Asbestos Regulations and associated guidelinesExcellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and listeningGreat time management skills, attention to detail, and personal motivationThe Ideal Candidate Will Be:Proactive and drivenAble to liaise with clients and workers at all levelsEnjoy working in a fast-paced team environment and adhering to tight deadlines
