The Hatchery Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hatchery operations, ensuring optimal conditions for egg incubation, hatching, and chick management.
This role calls for strong leadership, advanced technical skills, and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement. You will play a crucial role in driving the success of the hatchery operations. Your day to day will include:
Overseeing daily hatchery operations, including egg collection, incubation, hatching, and chick handling.Ensuring optimal environmental conditions to maximize hatchability and chick quality.Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures for hatchery processes and protocols.Leading, training, and mentoring hatchery staff to ensure top performance and adherence to best practices.Monitoring and maintaining hatchery equipment, scheduling maintenance and repairs as needed.Analysing performance data and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.Collaborating with breeding and production teams to align hatchery operations with overall production goals.Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in animal science, poultry science, agriculture, or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a breeder hatchery position.Proven experience in hatchery management, with a strong understanding of incubation and hatching processes.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in data analysis and performance monitoring.Knowledge of health and safety regulations and animal welfare standards.You will receive a salary of $105,000 – $115,000 per annum dependent on your skills and experience and will be provided with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
