Join the team at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Queenstown as a Handyperson! Reporting to the Assistant Hotel Manager, you will perform minor repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our guests. You'll be vital in helping our team adhere to IHG brand standards and meet regulatory requirements, creating a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all who stay with us.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control: Manage departmental budgets, oversee stock levels, and ensure compliance with audit and cost-efficiency goals.
Teamwork & Communication: Build positive relationships with team members and participate in meetings and training sessions.
Guest Interaction: Conduct inspections of guest rooms and public areas, addressing maintenance needs promptly and professionally.
Routine Maintenance: Handle tasks such as patching, painting, replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
Safety & Compliance: Champion health and safety practices, including fire and emergency protocols, and monitor compliance with IHG brand safety standards.
Skills & Requirements
Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent guest service.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently within a team-focused environment.
Knowledge of Safe Work practices and WH&S standards.
Strong time management skills and a trade qualification (preferred).
Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within a hotel setting.
