We are seeking a guidance counsellor, passionate about making a positive difference for our students. Counselling in a school setting provides students with an opportunity to explore difficulties and concerns and empowers them to make informed decisions. Skills and competencies: Have the ability to embrace and represent the special character and traditions of the college Honour the principles and give practical effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi Maintain professional membership and registration with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) or similar and comply with their Code of Ethics A minimum of two years' post qualification experience A minimum of 1 years' experience working with children and/or young people A mature and non-judgemental outlook Strong interpersonal skills Well-developed written and oral communication skills A keen sense of humour A warm and approachable manner that promotes empathic, strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and college whanau.
