About the OrganizationAnglican Care Waiapu (ACW) is the social services arm of the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu.
Our services and programmes in the Bay of Plenty, Tairawhiti, and Hawke's Bay support tamariki, whanau, and communities with early childhood education, family services, grief services, and older people programmes.We are committed to supporting our most vulnerable children, young people, families/whanau, and the elderly, partnering with them to achieve positive outcomes.
We recognise and acknowledge Te Tiriti o Waitangi which invites us into a covenant relationship with Maori of mutual respect, support, and dialogue.About the RoleAs a Growing Through Grief (GTG) Coordinator, you will work with your local communities to provide support for children, young people, and adults who are experiencing change, loss, and grief in their lives.
In this role, you will be responsible for all practical and professional aspects of programme delivery, overseeing the GTG service and promoting and growing it in the Rotorua area.Your day-to-day focus will be on:Planning, coordinating, and facilitating our Growing Through Grief programmesRecruiting, maintaining, and supporting a group of volunteers to deliver our programmesBuilding and maintaining networks across schools and other agencies that work with and for the communityIdentifying needs within our communityReporting, health and safety, and quality improvementThis is a part-time position working 20 hours per week based in our local Anglican Parish in Rotorua.About YouThis role offers variety, opportunities for growth, and a real sense of community.

You'll need strong professional ethics, a commitment to delivering quality programmes, and a desire to make a difference to tamariki, rangatahi, and whanau.The GTG team is passionate about supporting each other and connecting with their communities, making alignment with the team and ACW values key to success in this role.Key Requirements:Experience facilitating groups is essentialExperience supporting a team of volunteersA tertiary qualification in social sciences, nursing/health, or education is preferred, but not essentialExcellent written and oral communication skills, sound computer literacy skillsExperience working in a bicultural and/or multi-cultural contextAble to champion the values of Anglican Care WaiapuAbility to build and maintain networks across schools and other agenciesStrong communication and relationship management skills, especially with stakeholders and funders, as well as parents, children, young people, and other adultsIf this sounds like you – we want to hear from you!
