My client was established in New Zealand almost 100 years ago and has grown to be a New Zealand success story with an international presence. Due to the constant and consistent growth of the company, they are in need of another Tax Advisor to join their team to help advise the company on local and international projects and mergers and acquisitions. This is a great opportunity with a clear progression pathway to the senior leadership team. This position is fixed term until June 2026 but given the growth of the business, there is permanent potential. You will also be assisting the Finance team with the month end process as well as, but not limited to: Maintain emissions trading scheme compliance. Monitor shareholder continuity, thin capitalisation requirements for all entities. Co-ordinate the Research and Development grants process. Ensure all tax payments are made in a timely manner. Ensure compliance and update for new developments with the transfer pricing policy for all jurisdictions. Ensure all external stakeholder tax reporting is completed including the tax transparency report. Assistance with implementation of IFRS 16 including fixed asset review from an accounting and tax perspective. They have low staff turnover in the company due to how well they look after their employees and offering development opportunities to them to help and encourage their employees to keep on learning and be the best they can be. Ideally, you will be fully qualified (CA or CPA) and have at least 4 years of experience in Tax Advisory in a commercial organisation or from Big4 or mid/top tier law firm. If you have worked with international tax issues, that is a strong benefit. You will have great attention to detail and strong relationship building skills.
