We currently have an opportunity for a Group Tax Accountant to join our team in Christchurch, reporting to the Group Financial Controller.
The purpose of the Group Tax Accountant is to provide taxation and relevant financial advice required to sustain proactive oversight over tax obligations and compliance across Alliance Group Limited and related entities.
Key priorities for the role include:
Supporting the wider finance team with month end tasks and reporting requirements.
Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of tax returns and financial statements.
Acting as the subject matter expert, maintaining full compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements across all tasks and demonstrating readiness for audits.
Contributing to improving the finance team's capability by providing advanced financial expertise suited to AGL's size and complexity.
Implementing best practice in financial reporting and fulfilling statutory obligations whilst supporting the finance strategy across the business functions.
To be considered for the role, you will have the following:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax, finance, economics or related field.
Professional Accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent).
3-5 years' experience in tax accounting and management in a medium-to-large organisation.
3-5 years' experience to an intermediate/senior level at a Professional Accounting Services firm with significant interaction with complex clients of significant scale.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
The ability to communicate technical information in plain English to develop stakeholder relationships.
