Our client is seeking a Group Financial Controller to mentor and lead the finance team.About the Company…The company is based in the horticulture sector with its head office situated here with sites the length and breadth of the country. They also have operations based globally with subsidiaries based in Australia and the US.They have grown from humble beginnings to become a major supplier of numerous varieties of produce both locally and internationally.About the role…The role reports to the CFO and is responsible for leading and mentoring the finance team, ensuring the timely production of financial results.On top of the business as usual, there are several key transformational projects that need to be undertaken, working on improving systems and processes with the aim to streamline the workflows both within the finance team and the wider business. This role will lead these projects ensuring engagement from all stakeholders.Key responsibilities will include:Preparation of the consolidated accountsProduction of management information for the CFO, CEO, Leadership Team and Board, including board papersOverseeing month end process, providing commentary when requiredEnsuring all compliance functions are completedPreparation of end of year financial statementsOverseeing and key liaison for external auditsPreparation of all budgets and forecasts, including cashflow forecastingAnalysis of management accounts, P&L, balance sheetsProviding commercial support to the Leadership Team and wider business, enabling them to understand the numbersYou will also be required to work with key stakeholders across the business to implement process improvements and system consolidations.About You…This is a dynamic role with tangible opportunities for growth and development. Ideally you will have the following:Be CA qualified or equivalent5 plus years' experience in a similar level roleStrong management/ leadership skills and experienceStrong analytical skillsBackground in both Financial and Management AccountingBusiness process improvement experienceChange management experienceUnderstanding of Import/ Export would be an advantageStrong systems skills, including advanced ExcelOne of the key skills will be the ability to effectively influence both up and down and foster a successful, results driven finance function.Only candidates that are eligible to work in New Zealand will be considered for this role.If you would like to know more, or have any questions, call Paula on 027 478 3566.
