growth, and innovation in the agricultural sector. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced
Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) to lead their organisation into its next phase of growth and
success.
They are a technology-driven enterprise that provides a measurable and impactful solution for
cultivating clean, fresh, and local food. Their highly advanced controlled environment farming
methods optimise the environment with their greenhouses specifically tailored to suit the climatic
requirements of the plants.
Job Summary:
As the GCOO, you will provide strategic leadership, oversee investment strategies, and manage
relationships with key stakeholders. You will be responsible for driving business growth and ensuring
the overall success of the company's portfolio. Your role will involve developing and executing
business strategies, optimizing financial performance, and fostering a culture of excellence and
innovation across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Vision & Leadership:
o Develop and execute the company's overall strategy, aligning with the mission and
vision.
o Foster a transparent and collaborative relationship with the Board of Directors,
providing insightful updates on business performance.
o Establish profit-driven strategies that adhere to government mandates, maximize
shareholder value, and ensure long-term financial sustainability.
o Lead the executive team in promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and
operational excellence.
Financial Management:
o Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and reporting.
o Implement robust financial controls and risk management strategies.
o Drive financial stability and growth, ensuring healthy liquidity and strong cash flow.
Investment Management:
o Evaluate and prioritize investment opportunities, particularly in the Agri-Business
sector.
o Manage the investment portfolio to achieve targeted returns and mitigate risks.
o Oversee investment decisions, feasibility studies, and alignment with strategic goals.
Stakeholder Engagement & Corporate Governance:
o Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors,
government entities, and partners.
o Ensure the highest standards of corporate governance and ethical conduct.
o Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and networking events.
Operational Excellence & Innovation:
o Provide leadership to operational teams, ensuring efficient execution of business
plans.
o Optimize operational processes to enhance productivity, quality, and profitability.
o Foster cross-functional collaboration and accountability across all subsidiaries.
Technology & Digital Transformation:
o Drive the adoption of advanced agricultural technologies and digital tools.
o Ensure a secure and resilient IT infrastructure capable of supporting global
operations and growth.
o Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
o Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws and regulations.
o Implement policies to mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
Human Capital Development:
o Lead talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to attract top talent.
o Promote a positive and high-performing work environment, empowering employees
to excel.
Qualifications:
Experience in Investments/Finance and turnaround strategy, with at
least 10 years in senior executive leadership roles. (preferred)
Proven track record in managing complex, global operations with multiple subsidiaries.
Extensive experience in financial management, strategic planning, and operational
excellence.
Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business Administration, Strategy, Finance,
Agriculture, or a related field is strongly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of the agriculture, farming, and animal health industries.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
KPI's

Achievement of financial targets and budget adherence.
Stakeholder satisfaction and successful development of strategic partnerships.
Operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness of processes.
