PEG has a very material pipeline of investments at various stages of development which could see the doubling of its scale over the next 7-10 years.PEG is looking for a new Group CEO to lead the group through their next phase of growth and innovation. The CEO will work closely with the independent Board of Directors to execute the long-term strategy, ensuring operational excellence and profitability, while fostering a culture of innovation, sustainability, and health & safety.This is a critical role in advancing Pioneer's renewable energy initiatives, positioning the Group as a leader in the fast-evolving renewable energy sector. The Group CEO will be responsible for building and fostering stakeholder relationships with partners, shareholders, community, and iwi. This person will manage a growing portfolio of capital assets and programme delivery to execute on PEG's long-term strategy.Key competencies for this role include:Proven senior leadership experience within energy or adjacent capital-intensive sector, with an ability to manage diverse business units and subsidiaries.Strong financial acumen, including hands-on P&L responsibility, capital raising, and large-scale investment project management. Knowledge of energy trading markets and financial models related to energy projects highly desirable.An entrepreneurial deal maker, with a track record in seeing opportunities, and bringing partners together to achieve 1+1=3 outcomes.Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams, while building and maintaining a positive organisational culture and an ability to recognise and develop talent.PEG has its head office in Alexandra and a distributed workforce across New Zealand. Preference is for a candidate who can be domiciled in the Otago region or commit to a regular commute.
