The farm at Cape Kidnappers is seeking a grounds keeping apprentice to join their team in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand .
The ideal candidate is responsible for identifying and managing pests, weeds, and diseases.
Our organization occupies a breathtaking peninsula at the southern end of Hawke's Bay, extending 10 kilometres into the South Pacific.
The candidate will apply pesticides and herbicides in accordance with safety guidelines.
Applicants must have recently completed a degree in horticulture, turf management, or sport turf management.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $20-$22 per hour.
The candidate should have the ability to assist in the setup and breakdown of events and activities.
Qualifications for Grounds keeping Apprentice: Must have recently completed a degree in horticulture, turf management, or sport turf management.
Basic understanding of turf management practices.
Knowledge of plant biology, soil science, and pest management.
Familiarity with gardening tools and machinery.
Responsibilities for Grounds keeping Apprentice: Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems.
Monitoring and adjusting irrigation schedules to ensure optimal water usage.
Cleaning and performing basic maintenance on moving equipment and other machinery.
Reporting any equipment issues to supervisors.
