Te tunga | The role
We're looking for a technically skilled and creative graphic designer who can hit the ground running.
Reporting to the Senior Manager - External Affairs, within the Office of the Chief Executive, you will be part of a customer-centric team providing strategic and operational marketing, communications and engagement advice across Stats NZ.
In this role you will work with other External Affairs team members and collaboratively across the business to ensure all collateral meets the needs of our audiences and is aligned to our brand.
Design work may include, but is not limited to, corporate publications such as the Annual Report, promotional and marketing collateral, templates, social media, website and intranet banners and tiles, newsletters, and statistical reports and papers. You will also work with a range of stakeholders across the business to produce infographics, diagrams, and other technical graphics that help support information releases.

To be successful in this role you'll be able to demonstrate your:
ability to deliver impactful physical and digital graphic design services.
understanding of accessibility in design.
experience in producing creative to portray complex information or data.
knowledge of and experience in print production, web and digital design principles.
proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, primarily InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, and Microsoft 365.
knowledge of and experience designing for and/or using key social media and digital channels.
ability to work quickly, under pressure and with a strong attention to detail.
knowledge and experience, or willingness to learn about Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo and Te Ao Maori.
