About us
Child Cancer Foundation is a New Zealand charity that provides support to children and families on their cancer journey. We support them every step of the way, helping them overcome challenges and maintain control of their lives.
We focus on the whanau, not the cancer. No two families' experiences are the same, and neither is the nature of the support they need.
Our vision is 'To walk alongside and support all children and their families on their cancer journey and advance improvements to child cancer care' .
We are guided by our values that help us deliver our vision. Our values are:
Tautiaki | Trust
Each and every role plays an integral part in what we do.
About the Role
Reporting to the Philanthropy Manager, this is a crucial role to enable us to provide our services to families throughout Aotearoa. You will be solely responsible for managing all aspects of our grants activity, including managing relationships with funders and internal stakeholders.
You pride yourself on your ability to create strong applications to secure funding and always look to how we can improve when a grant hasn't been successful. Your finger is on the pulse – always looking for new opportunities and efficiencies, whether it is the use of AI or identifying new avenues for funding applications both nationally and regionally.
Attention to detail and accuracy of data is key, and by utilising the GEM portal, you will have timely and up-to-date information on all applications and ensure accountability reporting is achieved on time.
While this role sits within the Marketing & Fundraising team, it will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure all grant income is used for the specific purpose and meets all audit requirements.
Your ability to communicate and build relationships with key stakeholders from various Trusts and Foundations as well as internal stakeholders is a strength.
This role is part time, 20 hours per week.
What we provide
Aside from working with a group of passionate people making a difference for families facing childhood cancer, we have flexible working hours and provide the option to work from home one day per week. You will enjoy a paid day off on your work anniversary and wellbeing is supported through OCP, our EAP provider. We will also provide all the tools to get the job done!
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is technically minded with the ability to think creatively. You will be able to work autonomously as the expert in this space yet be a team player supporting the Philanthropy Manager. You will also ideally have:
At least 3 years relevant work experience
Ability to develop, maintain and improve administrative systems
Analytical skills with the ability to use data to make improvements and informed decisions
Competent across the main Microsoft Office products
Highly organised and able to juggle multiple tasks at once while maintaining strong attention to detail
The ability to effectively work with a diverse range of stakeholders and maintain positive relationships
If you are wanting a rewarding role where you can support a purpose-led organisation by leading the grants space all while working with belief, trust and empathy to support tamariki with cancer and their whanau, then please apply!
