Ko matou | About Us
The Education Review Office (ERO) works for the benefit of New Zealand's young children and students.
Within ERO, Te Ihuwaka | The Education Evaluation Centre works on a wide variety of topical and timely projects to evaluate the performance of the education system, the effectiveness of programmes, and to identify and share best practice. Te Ihuwaka is uniquely positioned to provide independent and objective advice, which is highly valued by decision makers and stakeholders.
When you work at Te Ihuwaka, you will contribute to work that has real impact on education outcomes in New Zealand. Over the past 12 months, Te Ihuwaka has advised government on what needs to change across a wide range of issues including improving behaviour in classrooms, looking at the quality of initial teacher education and the quality of provision in alternative education. We also support teachers and ECE Kaiako by providing evidence-based real-world examples of good practice on issues like teaching maths. Many of these reports have impacted policy and driven real change.
