Do you want to spend your summer being a part of revolutionising the agriculture industry?What You Will DoAs a GNC Engineer Intern with Trimble Agriculture, you will be joining the core development team for these systems. GNC stands for guidance, navigation, and controls, and in this internship you will be developing/maintaining core algorithms for steering/automating agricultural vehicles (tractors, harvesters, combines, sprayers, etc...), using MATLAB/Simulink or ROS/C/C++ to model/develop/maintain the algorithms, analyzing and tweaking vehicle performance, and integrating functionality into releasable products.This will see you doing some (or all) of the following:Design, development, and productisation of state estimation and/or control algorithmsWorking with Matlab/Simulink and model-based design (MBD)Utilising your experience with sensor fusion and filter design (e.g UKF, EKF) for odometry/pose estimationDevelopment, characterisation, and validation of non-linear vehicle dynamics plant modelsDeploying and profiling algorithm performance on real-time hardware/operating systemsDefining system/software architectureFoster ongoing testing and testability in building quality products.What Skills & Experience You Should BringGNC algorithm development experience for dynamic physical systems (e.g. ground vehicles)Proficient with Matlab & Simulink and/or C++ & ROS ecosystemFamiliar with C/C++ programming languages and compilation processExperience with test, verification, validation, and productisation of algorithmsExperience with requirements decomposition and management tools.What Skills & Experience You Could BringPractical estimation experience, specifically in the Agriculture industry, including on ground experience with Tractors, Combines, Harvesters, etcProficiency in production-grade C/C++ software developmentHIL and SIL testingSimulink auto-code generationGNSS+IMU based navigationAutonomous/Semi-autonomous vehicle controlExperience with Systems Identification, SimMechanics, Simscape, and Robotics ToolboxesSafety-critical software development and certificationMissile, ship, submarine, or autonomous vehicle guidance, navigation & control backgroundAdvanced degrees are highly desirableOur internships are designed to prepare you for your career journey, while growing as a professional through lunch and learns, team-building activities, and social networking events with other interns.
