About the role This is a newly created role offering an exciting opportunity to lead a redesigned group responsible for ensuring our electricity market continues to evolve to meet Aotearoa New Zealand's future needs.
In this role, you will lead the teams responsible for a secure and reliable electricity supply and well-functioning wholesale electricity market.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, your responsibilities include leadership, stakeholder engagement, external representation, and contributing to the Authority's overall strategic direction and success.
Through open, constructive, and collaborative leadership, you will: Drive development and design of the electricity market to achieve a market that is competitive, keeps prices affordable, and drives more choice for consumers.Develop and implement strategies to enhance market efficiency, competitiveness, transparency and ensure greater choices for consumers.Monitor market trends, forecast future energy demands, and identify opportunities for market improvements to ensure security of supply and a well-functioning wholesale market.Are you someone with the following? Demonstrated ability to lead and develop diverse teams and different specialisations to deliver agreed outcomes.Success in leading complex work programmes across a range of specialist areas considering both strategic and operational needs.Ability to manoeuvre through complex situations effectively and to keep enquiring and learning under pressure or in situations with high ambiguity.Working knowledge of a broad range of processes related to regulatory environment operations.Experience and/or knowledge of the current energy sector, regulation, or similarly complex sectors is advantageous but not essential.Experience at a senior level managing people, finances, and resources.If you're a dynamic leader who combines vision with action, has strong relationship-building skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for making a difference, we'd love to hear from you.Why work for us?
