As a department consisting of the largest network of Council owned pools and leisure centres in Australasia, we are committed to fostering wellbeing and providing an outstanding service for our communities.As General Manager, you'll be taking on the challenging, yet exciting and hugely impactful role of leading this department of up to 1,000 people and delivering outstanding value for money services across both council-run and contracted pools and leisure sites for the benefit of Aucklanders.You'll be making a difference on a significant scale with the opportunity to lead operational enhancement and optimisation, and identify trends and opportunities for innovation, improvement and efficiencies.Coming from a similar GM level or senior leadership role, an integral component of what you'll bring is experience in running a complex multi-site, and geographically dispersed operational service or business. You are experienced in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of customers, kaimahi and contractors. You'll understand contract management, and having managed in a diverse political environment will be beneficial.Commercially astute, and with a track record of customer focus, delivery, service enhancement and business improvement, you'll also bring inspiring, inclusive and engaging leadership with the ability to create a positive and high performing culture, and pride yourself on building trust and strong collaborative partnerships.It's a large role, with the size, scale and resources available for you to be able to make a difference to a city of over 1.7 million residents and in doing so impact the overall health and wellbeing of New Zealanders.
