Grand Mercure Puka Park Resort boasts a majestic location at Pauanui Beach on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula, on New Zealand's North Island. The tranquil resort is set amidst 25 acres of New Zealand native bushland and only two hours' drive from Auckland. The resort features luxurious chalets, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and renowned restaurant and conference facilities that offer breathtaking views.

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and inspire a highly professional and dedicated team. The General Manager must have strong rooms revenue acumen, a passion and knowledge of food & beverage operations, and the ability to take this award-winning resort to the next level.

You will play a vital role in overseeing and managing all operational aspects of our resort, ensuring exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

HOW YOU'LL SHINE: Lead and manage all aspects of the resort, including front office, housekeeping, conferences and events, food and beverage, maintenance, and other relevant departments. A major focus on food and beverage operations. Drive the culinary success, ensuring unparalleled dining experiences and offerings to attract the local market as well as guests. Revenue management with the central revenue team. Maintain and enhance operational standards to exceed guest expectations. Develop and implement effective strategies to optimize operational efficiency and productivity. Collaborate with department heads to establish and maintain effective communication channels, fostering a positive and cohesive team environment and workplace culture. Mentor and coach staff to enhance skills and maintain high service standards. Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction, promptly engaging in service recovery. Stay updated with industry trends, competitor analysis, and best practices to drive innovation and improvement. Act as an ambassador of unique experiences for guests and staff. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry. A food & beverage background is advantageous. An eagerness to grow personally and professionally. Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with guests, staff, and senior management. Sound knowledge of hotel operations, including revenue management, front office, housekeeping, conferences and events, food and beverage, and maintenance. Familiarity with property management systems and other relevant software. Ability to make strategic decisions and problem-solve effectively, even in high-pressure situations. A passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Must have current Australian or New Zealand working rights.
