Our superior taste, high quality, competitive pricing, and focus on sustainable brewing practices have grown a loyal community of Two Thumb enthusiasts within Christchurch and throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.We sell our range of beers, ciders and fermented drinks through our own venues, franchised operations, in other bars, venues and events via trade sales, as well as supermarkets. The Two Thumb Brewery is completely solar-powered. We utilise rainwater catchment and have a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment system on site, ensuring that our products are not only the best choice for drinking, but also for the planet.We operate a network of our own brew bars (currently five in number). 2025 will see that number grow through expansion of our own operated bars and establishment of a franchise network of owner operated venues nationwide. We operate a stable distribution of our core and seasonal range in kegs and cans across Aotearoa New Zealand.Purpose of the positionAs the General Manager you are responsible for the strategic, operational and people leadership of TTBC to ensure that it continues to brew and sell beers of the highest quality. You will direct the production of the brewery and provide leadership for our venue managers, sales and marketing and administration staff. Volume growth at a profitable margin is central to the role.You will need to be a strategic and creative thinker who can pre-empt and adapt to a rapidly changing sector and apply creative ways to deliver the growth objectives set by the Board.You are also responsible for managing TTBC's corporate functions including accounting, finance, reporting, operational policy, marketing & communications, information technology, and human resources. You will also be responsible for working with TTBC's franchise operators nationally.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership and People ManagementProvide support that enables the Board to discharge its governance obligations and ensure that TTBC delivers value to shareholders as well as meeting its regulatory obligations.Working to the Board, develop and implement comprehensive business strategies to drive growth, profitability, and brand awareness.Lead, support, and develop TTBC Direct reports.Develop and implement an annual operational plan that gives effect to the direction set by the Board.Develop, forecast, monitor, and manage the TTBC budget and cashflow.Ensure TTBC complies with all its legislative obligations.Operational ExcellenceDirect and oversee all aspects of daily operations, including brewing, packaging, sales, marketing, and finance.Ensure efficient and timely production schedules to maximise throughput and ensure supply meets demand.Manage and coordinate the production team, logistics, and quality control.Work closely with brewers, sales, and marketing staff to align production with predicted demand.Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.Oversee multiple venue operations and provide support to all venue managers (owned and franchised).Ensure consistency in service standards, quality, and overall guest experience across all venues.Support our venue Managers with recruitment, staffing, and conflict resolution as needed.Recruit, hire, train, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue, cost control, and budgeting.Ensure TTBC complies with all its legislative obligations.Brand DevelopmentWork with our Marketing Manager to maintain and enhance the brand's reputation through marketing initiatives, community engagement, and strategic partnerships.Work closely with the brewing team to ensure a diverse, high-quality product lineup.Ensure that the brewery is aligned with market demands while maintaining the company's unique identity and brand.Coordinate activity between sales, marketing, and production.Qualifications and Skills:Proven experience as a General Manager in a similar production setting, preferably in the craft beer industry.A proven record of leading, motivating and managing teams to achieve business goals.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Outstanding financial acumen and analytical abilities including Budget management, monitoring and forecasting.Experience reporting to a Board or Senior Management.Previous exposure to Sales and Marketing functions.Comfortable developing and implementing growth strategies.Passion for craft beer and the hospitality industry.Strong attention to planning and detail.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.If you are a dedicated and experienced individual with a passion for crafting exceptional beer and providing unforgettable guest experiences, we encourage you to apply.How do your skills match this job?Sign in and update your profile to get insights.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as a general manager?
