General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)Full timeOur client, Wrightway Construction, has stood the test of time for almost two decades, working on a wide array of residential construction projects. They are specialists in renovations, insurance and disaster repairs, remediation work, and new builds.With their current General Manager having secured a role overseas, we are on the hunt for a new General Manager to support the Managing Director in the day-to-day business operations.Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the GM will be responsible for driving business growth, maintaining and developing strong commercial relationships, and continuing to strengthen what is already a strong workplace culture.About The RoleYour day-to-day responsibilities will include:Providing overall direction and structure to the staffBusiness planning and strategy in conjunction with the Managing DirectorGroup overview of company entitiesManage inter-entity transactionsOverseeing tax and GST filing for multiple entitiesOversee financial functions of the business with support of external accountant and internal Accounts ManagerPeople management and HRManaging day-to-day operations of business with support from the management teamSkills and ExperienceTo be successful in the role you should be/have:At least 5 years experience in a senior leadership role or have transferrable skills that match the requirements of the roleStrong accounting/finance knowledge is very important (high level understanding of tax/GST rules)A proven track record of creating, leading, motivating, and managing staff to achieve desired outcomesHigh level of commercial acumenExperience/knowledge of the construction and insurance industry (Insurance industry knowledge beneficial)A strategic thinker confident in your ability to develop and execute robust business plansAbility to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and turn these relationships into profitable business opportunitiesThis is a fast-paced industry where no two days will be the same and as a result, we are looking for a motivated and energetic General Manager to help steer the team to growth and success.If you are interested in this opportunity and believe you are the right person for the role, then we would love to hear from you.
