Cholmondeley Children's Centre, situated in beautiful Ohinetahi (Governor's Bay), is an established charity that has provided respite stays to the tamariki of Canterbury for over 99 years. We are a leader in early intervention, respite care, and education for tamariki between the ages of 4 to 12 years and alongside our outreach service, support whanau and community to be successful in caring and growing our young people.About the roleWe are seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of Cholmondeley Children's Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the centre, developing and implementing strategic initiatives, and maintaining high standards of care and service delivery.This position works closely with our experienced Governance Board, sub-committees, and senior leadership team who all bring vast skillsets to support the Vision, Mission, and Values of Cholmondeley Children's Centre.This is a diverse dynamic role, where no two days are the same! Here's some of what you will be doing:Lead and manage the centre's operations, ensuring alignment with our mission, vision, and values.Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the quality of services.Oversee financial management, including budgeting and financial reporting.Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.Work collaboratively with the Board Chair and sub-committee Chairs.Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, including whanau, community partners, and government agencies.Represent the centre at external events and in the community.About youProven experience in a senior management role, preferably within the child care or social services sector.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Strategic thinking with the ability to implement long-term plans.Financial management, including fundraising, with experience in budget management.Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in child care.A passion for working with children and a commitment to their well-being.What We Will Offer You:Cholmondeley will provide a remuneration package that will recognize the skills we require for the role, and support your own individual annual professional development plan and annual reviews.
