They also own and manage nearly 500 social rental properties and distribute grants to community organisations. Their operations are commercial yet also aim to enhance the wellbeing of people in the region. THL has a unique opportunity for an experienced hotel and resort manager to provide leadership and direction for Wairarapa's premier hotel and function centre, the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Solway Park. This is a substantial business with a significant turnover and approximately 80 team members. The 102-bed complex provides conferencing, wedding and event facilities, family recreational facilities, a bar and a grillroom that offers higher end dining. This is a great role for a leader with demonstrated success in hotel management and high-level commercial acumen to use their energy to take this iconic business forward. The ideal candidate will have: At least 10 years operational leadership experience with a large and successful hotel or resort A strong track record of leading and motivating teams Strong commercial acumen Exceptional relationship skills and the ability and credibility to be the face of the resort and to build relationships in the wider community that benefit the business A sound understanding of the hospitality sector including current legislation Sales and marketing experience within the hospitality sector would be an advantage. This role is based in Masterton so would suit someone either in Masterton or the wider Wairarapa or someone prepared to relocate to Masterton.
