About the Role We have an exciting vacancy for a senior manager to join an iconic NZ owned organization and lead our garden team. This key leadership role would take your retail career to the next level as a part of the largest group of Mitre 10 stores in Auckland! Kiwis love to garden, and we love to assist them with their gardening needs. We are looking for an experienced retail professional with green fingers and a customer-focused attitude to take on a leadership role within our garden centre.
Reporting directly to the Store Manager, you will have a strong focus on engaging, motivating, and leading the garden team. You will inspire Team Members to continue to provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers while striving to meet KPI targets and deliver growth within the department.
What Will You Bring? Your gardening passion may come from time in your own backyard, or you may have undertaken horticultural training – either way you will enjoy helping our customers select the right plants, along with all the dry goods and hardware, whether it's fertilizers and pest control or gardening gloves and a wheelbarrow. Ideally, you will be experienced with the sale of both green and dry garden goods, although applicants with a proven retail background and who are eager to learn will be considered. Experience in Horticulture or Green Goods and garden hardware including fertilizers and pest control. Replenish stock, ensuring appropriate and attractive presentation in all merchandise displays, including correct ticketing, to maximize sales potential. Previous leadership experience of large teams and a proven track record in engaging, motivating, and developing your teams to drive sales and provide exceptional customer service. An innovative approach to work; you might be working in a 'big box', but you will be challenged to think outside the box in providing ideas to continuously improve and develop the department.
