With a fantastic team of garden experts working to provide gardeners with the best advice and service, we are looking for an energetic and dynamic people leader to join our team in our Cashmere branch in Christchurch as an Assistant Manager, working closely with the Branch Manager to help lead growth in store.Reporting to the Branch Manager, this challenging role will see you leading a team in a Retail Store.
The role requires strong leadership with significant retail experience essential and horticultural experience strongly preferred.
We are looking for a leader who creates an engaging culture that values and strives for success and facilitates the growth and development of our retail team.We need you to be:very customer focused and able to inspire your team to deliver exceptional levels of customer service.able to work closely with the Branch Manager to develop and implement business strategies, processes and systems with a strong focus on people and business performance.passionate about driving sales and able to efficiently control costs, particularly around labour and purchases.a great leader and teacher who can coach and develop the branch team to achieve career goals and internal progression opportunities.able to ensure the achievement of operational and visual merchandising standards within branches.What we want to see from you:2+ years of retail management experience, either as an Assistant Manager or Branch Manager.An ability to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, have a great understanding of driving sales and controlling costs to maximise profitability.Previous success in leading a team of retail staff.A focus on Health and Safety for yourself and others.A great eye for detail and ability to create and execute inspirational displays.As part of our recruitment process, a successful candidate would need to be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol Screen and also undertake a pre-employment ACC check.Due to the anticipated volume of applicants, only applicants who we wish to interview will be contacted.
