Embark on a journey with Hui Te Ananui A Tangaroa New Zealand Maritime Museum. Celebrating the connection between people and the sea, the team of passionate staff and volunteers share New Zealand's history and inspirational stories through extensive galleries, exhibitions, programmes and on-water experiences.Sitting at the gateway of Auckland's vibrant Viaduct Basin on Hobson Wharf, the Museum is Auckland's primary CBD-based waterfront visitor attraction.We are looking for an experienced customer-focused Front of House Manager (FOHM) to lead and inspire our front-of-house team, enhancing our visitor experience with outstanding service and Manaakitanga (hospitality). You'll manage day-to-day operations, oversee a team of Museum Assistants, and ensure that every visitor enjoys a memorable museum experience.This is a permanent, part-time position of 24 hours / 3 days per week. Days and roster to be discussed – likely to be either Sun-Tues or Wed-Frid. This forms part of a job-share with another FOHM to cover the 7-day week. The role will also require occasional evening shifts and public holidays.You are a passionate leader with a natural ability to engage, inspire, and motivate a team. With a proactive approach, you seek continuous improvement in customer service, and you have a knack for turning challenges into opportunities. Your interpersonal skills allow you to build effective relationships across all levels, and you handle diverse visitor needs with calm authority and professionalism.
