Celebrating the connection between people and the sea, the team of passionate staff and volunteers share New Zealand's history and inspirational stories through extensive galleries, exhibitions, programmes and on-water experiences.Sitting at the gateway of Auckland's vibrant Viaduct Basin on Hobson Wharf, the Museum is Auckland's primary CBD-based waterfront visitor attraction.We are looking for an experienced customer-focused Front of House Manager (FOHM) to lead and inspire our front-of-house team, enhancing our visitor experience with outstanding service and Manaakitanga (hospitality). You'll manage day-to-day operations, oversee a team of Museum Assistants, and ensure that every visitor enjoys a memorable museum experience.This is a permanent, part-time position of 24 hours / 3 days per week. Days and roster to be discussed – likely to be either Sun-Tues or Wed-Frid. This forms part of a job-share with another FOHM to cover the 7-day week. The role will also require occasional evening shifts and public holidays.You are a passionate leader with a natural ability to engage, inspire, and motivate a team. With a proactive approach, you seek continuous improvement in customer service, and you have a knack for turning challenges into opportunities. Your interpersonal skills allow you to build effective relationships across all levels, and you handle diverse visitor needs with calm authority and professionalism.
