JOB POSTING - FORESTRY CO-ORDINATOR Term: Full-Time Regular (37.5 hours per week)

The Forestry Co-ordinator will assist the Forestry Manager and Forester as directed and is primarily responsible for coordinating Resources, Work Schedules and communication within the Forestry Department and Interdepartmental Meetings and Projects.

This position will have opportunity to be involved in a wide range of First Nation Forestry including Forest Tenure Management, Forest Planning & Policies and engagement with other First Nation Communities.

Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the Administration and implementation of Forestry Department Programs and Policies and preparation of Program/Project Budgets and Progress Reports Assist in Planning/Coordinating department Work Schedules, Meetings and Resources Assist in developing First Nation Forestry Policies & Practices within USIB Traditional Territory Where directed, participate in Fieldwork which may include Surveys, Site Assessments and Forest Planning & Development activities Where directed, assist in monitoring Projects/Contracts and Client specific requirements Where directed, Engage with Forestry Clients, Partners and Government Officials Organise and maintain Accurate Records, Field Data/Notes and follow-up Reporting Secure storage of Sensitive Data and Records Monitor Worksite Safety This position includes Field and Office duties Other work assigned as required by the direct supervisor Education & Experience: Technical Diploma in Forestry or related Natural Resource field is an asset Registered Professional Technician (RFT) or eligible to enroll with Forest Professionals of British Columbia https://www.fpbc.ca/ is an asset Minimum 2 years' experience in Forestry or Natural Resources related fields The successful candidate will have: Excellent Communication skills and ability to work Collaboratively within a team environment Ability to work Independently and maintain good Judgement while performing Duties Knowledge of applicable BC Forestry Legislation, Regulations and Government Policies is an asset Strong Computer skills and use of Business Administration & Forestry related Software (Microsoft 365 for Business, Google Earth Pro, Mobile GIS Apps) Sensitivity to and knowledge of First Nation Cultural Values and Traditions is an asset Good Interpersonal, Communication, Time Management and Organizational skills Strong attention to detail, accuracy and format regarding Reporting and Record Keeping Class 5 driver's license, and acceptable drivers abstract Wage Scale: $28.65 - $35.65/hr
